Alkagesta said banking facilities and trade finance lines provided by its partners totalled more than US$1 billion, highlighting the scale of that support at its Banking Partners Summit in Malta on 2 October. In its account of the event, the company described the financing as a foundation for further expansion of its global trading activities and Malta operations.

The full-day gathering took place at Alkagesta’s Malta headquarters. According to the company, it attracted representatives of financial institutions from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, the United Kingdom and Malta, together with clearing partners and local industry and government stakeholders. Discussions covered commodity trading, trade finance, risk management and compliance, as well as Malta’s position as an international trading centre.

The programme combined presentations at the company’s offices with a visit to the Evos Malta terminal and discussions with its management. A gala dinner concluded the event, offering participants further opportunities to develop professional contacts and consider future collaboration. Alkagesta presented the summit as a forum for strengthening relationships across the financial and operational network supporting its business.

The company said its banking relationships rested on transparency, careful risk management, regulatory compliance and sustainable long-term growth. It also highlighted the contribution of clearing partners, saying their services provided market access and risk coverage to support the execution and hedging of trading activities. Alkagesta linked both banking and clearing support to its ability to pursue trading strategies within its governance and control framework.

Alkagesta’s account also promoted Malta as a base for international commodity trading and trade finance. It cited European Union membership, the regulatory framework, financial services infrastructure and a developing network of logistics and storage operators as advantages. The company characterised the discussions as reflecting a shared interest among banks, clearing institutions, terminal operators and local stakeholders in building lasting partnerships to support trading activity and manage risk.
